With a focus on creating assorted structures and silhouettes, I use and alter my building block patterns in order to achieve the styles and designs from my sketch. Challenging myself to work on different styles helps me to further refine my pattern and garment construction skills. With so much of today’s fashion industry driven by fast fashion and poorly made garments, patternmaking plays a vital role in perfecting a garment’s fit, structure, drape and style before it ever reaches production.
