Draping
For this project, we used at least one recycled material to incorporate into the final garment, my recycled material of choice was old keys. Inspired by the mystery of keys and their ability to unlock new worlds, I created this dystopian look that blurs the line between reality and imagination.

Process
As I was constructing this garment, I aimed for a form-fitting piece with a subtle amount of flow for ease of movement. When creating my bodice, I understood the importance of grainlines, mannequin style lines, fabric manipulation, and how to transfer my pieces onto pattern paper. As I was creating my skirt, I was able to understand bias draping and how that ultimately allows the fabric to flow more naturally.
